The Shared Parenting Council of Connecticut is seeking a
"FEW GOOD MEN and WOMEN" who firmly believe that Dad's count, too. We are interested in any ideas on ways to make the Connecticut Laws and Judicial Decisions more inclined to favor both parents.

The Shared Parenting Council has a vision that the State of Connecticut will one day support and encourage both parents to be actively involved with their childre on a regular and continuing basis. Judges need to ask each parent what they are doing to encourage active involvement by the other parent.

  • PA 05-258, signed into law in 2005, is an important step towards enacting our vision.
  • SB1120, introduced in 2007, is the next step - we need the legislature to enact SB 1120.

Is someone preventing you from having this opportunity?

Would you like to spend more time with your child?

If you answer yes to any of these questions, please know that you are not alone. Many fathers (and mothers) across the world desire to spend more time with their children, too (along with juggling the dog, cooking, phones, and computers as well). Unfortunately, when there is a parting of ways between parents, the courts don't always support frequent and continuing contact between the children and both parents.
